As well as being a musician, I have learned new skills in video editing. I now have 5 years experience as a video editor, using DaVinci Resolve video editing software, created by Black Magic Design.

I began through learning to edit my own videos, which were focused on teaching the ‘Cello, and I continued to build on my editing skills through persevering with this project. It was at the start of lock-down in March 2020 when I came up with the idea of filming myself teaching the ‘Cello from scratch, in order to create an online course for individuals wanting to learn the ‘Cello. This online course is now live, and is split into 2 Sets with a total of 30 lesson videos plus several extra videos. I am currently finishing up a new set of videos for cellists of intermediate to advanced level.

Given the experience I now have, I am happy to edit videos for clients. Whether it be a video of a conference, a birthday party, an event for advertising, a performance of other musicians/singers, or something else, please get in touch. My style is a perfectionist one, because I have a specific interest in paying attention to detail, and am a naturally patient individual.

Here is a break-down of what I do:

– removing background noise to allow for more clarity in sound

- enhancing the quality of sound

- improving colour balance, contrast, temperature, and enhancing levels of light

- adding a music track as background to verbal content within a video

- adding extra audio track to verbally illustrate a video’s content

- editing audio tracks (i.e. speech)

- adjusting different volume levels to create balance

- editing moving images towards creating movement that is as natural and consistent as possible (for example in educational videos).

- fading-in and fading-out of scenes within a video

- creating a video containing at least two separate clips of varying sizes

- rotating of clips and zooming-in and out to exclude/include specific objects

- adding text to a video, and fading this text in/out

- rendering and processing of a video of ideal size to be played on various platforms

- putting several separate clips together to create a single consistent video

- sharpening or blurring images as desired within a video

- including photographs to be seen at various points within a video
